Wiki/Build a Keeper

Build a Keeper: every slot and weight, what wins Golden Gloves and Yashin Trophies, the Hall of Fame math, and the best keepers posted

The smallest pool on the site, the longest careers, and the one build game where half the players who start never finish a career. Here is why, and how to be in the other half.

Updated 2026-08-25Source: game codeOfficial

The short version

  • Reflexes and Diving weigh 1.2; Positioning, Handling, Clutch and Frame 1.1; Command, Distribution and Agility 1.0. Frame is a steep height curve (4.2 per inch), so tall keepers matter here.
  • Careers run to 44. Max age ≈ 34 + 0.03 × (Agility − 60) + 0.025 × (Frame − 65), so Agility and height buy the extra years.
  • Clean sheets are the Hall currency: up to 36 points for clean sheets past 80. A Yashin Trophy is 15, a World Cup 9.
  • Automatic Hall of Fame: 400 clean sheets, 3 Yashin Trophies, 2 World Cups, or a Yashin plus 2 Champions Leagues.
  • The all-time #1 is a 103, the lowest ceiling of any build game, because the pool is only about 180 keepers and 12 icons. Legends fill 39% of top-40 slots.

Frame here is 38 + 4.2 per inch above 5'4": a 6'0" keeper is a 72, 6'4" an 89, 6'6" a 97. Unlike the striker game, height is weighted like a real skill.

Why keeper is harder

Three reasons, all visible in the numbers. The pool is about 180 goalkeepers (top five leagues and MLS) plus 12 icons, so there are far fewer diamonds to land. The ceiling is lower: the all-time #1 is 103 where the striker board tops 113. And only about half of the people who start a keeper build run the career, which suggests the first build lands low and people bail. The fix is patience: a keeper build that reads 85 is as good, relatively, as a striker build that reads 95.

What lands

  • Goalkeepers rated 71+ from the top five leagues and MLS, plus 12 icons (Yashin, Casillas, Buffon-era greats), ratings from EA Sports FC.
  • 4% Legend, 5% Prime, tier-weighted otherwise. One Re-spin, one Boost, one Snag.

What the career sim rewards

  • Clean sheets and saves are the outputs everything keys on: Reflexes, Diving and Positioning make saves; Positioning, Command and Clutch make clean sheets.
  • Career length is the longest in soccer: start at 19, max age 34 + 0.03 × (Agility − 60) + 0.025 × (Frame − 65), clamped 30 to 44.
  • Hardware in the Hall score: Yashin Trophy 15, World Cup 9, Champions League 4.5, Golden Glove 2.5, league title 1.6.
  • The World Cup fires every fourth season; one injury per career at most; the same decision events as the striker game.

The Hall of Fame

Automatic: 400+ clean sheets, or 3+ Yashin Trophies, or 2+ World Cups, or 1 Yashin with 2+ Champions Leagues.

Otherwise: clean sheets past 80 × 0.14 (capped at 36), saves past 1,500 × 0.003 (capped at 8), hardware and rating points, rolled against (score − 44) / 32. Verdicts: 🐐 G.O.A.T. (Hall with a 99+ build), 🏆 Hall of Fame, 🧱 Hall of Clean Sheets (250 clean sheets, 3,000 saves or 900 apps in two milestone clubs, but no Hall), Hall of Pretty Good, Hall of Mid, Hall of Not Good.

Best builds from the leaderboard

Tips

  • Reflexes and Diving take the icons. They are the 1.2 slots and the icons' best numbers.
  • Do not dump a short keeper in Frame. At 1.1 weight and 4.2 per inch, a 5'11" keeper in Frame is a 68 that costs real OVR. Wait for a 6'4"+.
  • Agility buys years. The one 1.0 slot that pays back in the sim: careers to 44 mean 400 clean sheets are reachable.
  • Judge the build against the keeper board, not the striker board. A 95 here is top-40 all-time.

Questions people ask

What are the slot weights in Build a Keeper?

Reflexes and Diving 1.2; Positioning, Handling, Clutch and Frame 1.1; Command, Distribution and Agility 1.0.

Why is Build a Keeper harder than Build a Striker?

A pool of about 180 keepers versus 560 attackers, so fewer diamonds land, and a lower ceiling: the all-time #1 keeper is 103 where the striker board tops 113. Judge builds against the keeper board.

How do you make the Hall of Fame as a keeper?

Automatically with 400 clean sheets, 3 Yashin Trophies, 2 World Cups, or a Yashin plus 2 Champions Leagues. Otherwise a score built from clean sheets, saves and hardware.

How long do keeper careers last?

Up to age 44. Max age is 34 plus a slice of Agility and Frame, clamped between 30 and 44.
