Wiki/Accounts, XP and levels

Accounts, XP and levels: how to sign in, what an account saves, the XP curve and every XP source, streaks and freezes, the 30 daily quests, handles, profiles and friends

You can play everything as a guest. An account is what makes your progress follow you: Hall of Fame, streak, XP, coins, cosmetics, handle, friends. Free, ten seconds.

The short version

  • Sign in with Google, Discord, an email code, or Apple. Guests can play every game, post to leaderboards, keep a streak and earn XP on that device; they cannot save a Hall of Fame, hold coins, claim a handle, or carry anything to another device.
  • XP per level is 100 + 50 per level (100, 150, 200…). Level 10 needs 2,700 XP total, level 25 needs 16,200. There is no cap.
  • Big XP: a career sim is 40 (+150 for a Hall of Fame career, plus OVR over 70, plus 12 per ring), a 1v1 win 55, a Hard quest 300, a GOAT Squad championship 250 on top of 25 per fight.
  • The streak is global (one daily anywhere counts), resets at UTC midnight, and earns a Streak Freeze at 7, 14, 30 and 100 days. A freeze covers one missed day.
  • Three daily quests (Easy 75, Medium 150, Hard 300 XP, Clean Sweep +150), the same three for everyone, new at UTC midnight.

Signing in

MethodHow it works
GoogleOne tap. The original and most common.
DiscordSends you to Discord and straight back to the page you were on. Also the route to the 1,000-coin Discord bonus.
EmailType your address, get a six-digit code, enter it. No password. Codes expire, so use it while it is fresh.
AppleSign in with Apple, on the web and natively in the iOS app.

Google and Apple buttons are hidden inside in-app browsers (opening a link from X, Instagram or Facebook), because those browsers block them; use Discord or email there, or open the page in Safari or Chrome. Signed-out players get one gentle sign-in prompt a day, after a daily or a career.

Guest versus account

Works as a guestNeeds an account
Every game, the daily challenge, 1v1 Face OffThe personal Hall of Fame (saving career cards)
Posting to the leaderboard under a name you typeGoat Coins, the store, cosmetics, the GOAT Pass, Pro
Daily streak and the streak calendar, on that deviceA unique @handle, so friends can find you
XP, levels, daily quests and achievements, on that deviceAnything following you to another device or browser
Friends: search, add, be challenged (under a display name)Your 1v1 Elo record kept across devices

When you sign in, what you did as a guest on that device comes with you: XP earned signed-out is claimed into an account that has none yet, guest streak days merge into the account, achievements merge (earliest unlock wins), and a device's 1v1 record merges in. XP on an account only ever goes up; the server keeps the higher of what it has and what the device reports.

XP and levels

XP to go from level L to L+1 is 100 + 50 × (L − 1): 100, 150, 200, 250 and so on. Total XP to reach a level is 25 × (L − 1) × (L + 2).

Levels and rank titles are for show: the bar, the "Lv" next to your name in friend lists and profiles. Nothing is locked behind a level. Cosmetics come from the store and the GOAT Pass, and the Pass unlocks on Season XP, which is every XP point you earn while a season is live.

Streaks

  • A day counts when you finish a daily challenge. Any game; the streak is global, and only one daily per date counts toward it.
  • Days change at midnight UTC. Play yesterday and today, the streak goes up one. Miss a UTC day and it resets to one, unless a Streak Freeze saves it.
  • Streak Freeze: earned at 7, 14, 30 and 100 days. If you missed exactly one day and hold a freeze, it is spent automatically and the streak continues.
  • Milestones: 3 days (a toast), 7 and 14 (a freeze), 30 (a trophy and a freeze), 100 ("100 straight days. GOAT." and a freeze).
  • The streak calendar in the ☰ menu shows the last 45 days, your current and best streaks, and the freezes you hold. Days played as a guest merge into the account when you sign in, and the server never lowers a streak.

Daily quests

Three a day, one of each tier, the same three for every player in the world, new at UTC midnight (the panel counts down). They pay XP only. Find them under ☰, Daily Quests, or at /pitching#quests. A quest never repeats on back-to-back days.

Your Hall of Fame

  • Manual only: after a career, press Save to my Hall of Fame on the career card. Nothing saves itself. Signed-in accounts only.
  • Stored: the player name (up to 40 characters), the final OVR, the build, and a short career summary.
  • 50 saves per game; GoatLab Pro lifts the cap. Delete any save with its ✕.
  • Browse under ☰, My Hall of Fame, sorted by Overall, WAR, Earnings, Hall of Fame or Newest.
  • Your top builds show on your profile, and anyone can take one of them on in a friendly 1v1 (see below).

Handles, profiles and friends

@handles

Three to twenty characters: letters, numbers or underscore. Unique across GoatLab, not case-sensitive, first come first served. One is claimed for you at your first sign-in, seeded from the name you already play under; change it any time and the old one frees up. Your handle shows next to your name on the Ranks page, and only players with a handle appear in friend search.

Profiles

Friends

  • Search by handle (two characters or more, six results). Add sends a request; if they had already asked you, it accepts on the spot. Friend lists cap at 200.
  • The online dot means seen in the last two and a half minutes.
  • Remove a friend from their profile; that also cancels any open challenge between you.

Challenges

  • Challenge anyone to a live 1v1 (baseball, hoops or soccer) from their profile, friend or not. Send and enter the arena, or send and come back when they accept. Friendly, no Elo at stake, ten open challenges at a time, each expires after 24 hours.
  • The meet link: both of you land on the same arena link and are paired the moment the second person arrives, so nobody has to wait around.
  • Take on a saved build: the sword on any build in a profile puts that build in the other corner of a 1v1. Always friendly, never rated. The owner gets told whether their build held or fell.
  • The Activity tab under Friends lists build defences ("Your build held!" / "Your build fell"), and the ☰ button carries a badge for new requests and challenges. In the iOS app, friend requests, challenges and streak reminders can also arrive as notifications.

There is no block or mute control yet. If someone is a problem, report it in the Discord.

Names

Leaderboard names are up to 20 characters, Hall of Fame names 40, handles 20. A shared filter blocks slurs and strong profanity, and it is built to catch spelling tricks, symbol swaps and padding; a blocked name is rejected with a message rather than silently changed. Ordinary words and real names that happen to contain a rude substring pass. Old leaderboard entries with bad names show as "Anonymous".

Your data

To access, correct or delete your account data, email pitchergami@gmail.com, as set out in the privacy policy. Signing out clears the local copy of your progress on that device; individual Hall of Fame saves can be deleted any time from the gallery.

Questions people ask

Do I need an account to play GoatLab?

No. Every game, the daily challenge and 1v1 work as a guest. An account adds the Hall of Fame, coins and cosmetics, a handle, and progress that follows you to other devices.

How much XP do you need per level in GoatLab?

100 for level 2, then 50 more each level: 150, 200, 250 and so on. Level 10 is 2,700 XP in total; level 25 is 16,200. There is no cap.

What gives the most XP in GoatLab?

A GOAT Squad championship (250 plus 25 per fight), a Hard daily quest (300), a Hall of Fame career (190 or more), and a 1v1 win (55).

How do streaks work in GoatLab?

Finish a daily challenge in any game once per UTC day. Miss a day and it resets unless you hold a Streak Freeze, which you earn at 7, 14, 30 and 100 days and which covers one missed day.

What are the daily quests?

Three a day, Easy (75 XP), Medium (150) and Hard (300), the same three for everyone, new at UTC midnight. Finishing all three adds a 150 XP Clean Sweep.

How do I change my GoatLab handle?

From your profile settings under Friends. Three to twenty letters, numbers or underscores; the old handle frees up for someone else.
